2. Intellectual Property Rights
The entire content of this website is the exclusive intellectual property of the AQUATERRA Ecological Society or its licensed partners, protected under Law no. 8/1996 on copyright and neighboring rights in Romania, as well as international copyright treaties.
- It is strictly prohibited to copy, distribute, modify, republish, or use the materials on this website for commercial purposes without prior written consent from the association.
- Users may download, save, or print materials from the site exclusively for personal, educational, and non-commercial use, provided that all copyright mentions and source attributions are kept intact.
3. Website Use and User Conduct
Users agree to use the website, contact forms, and donation modules in a lawful and good-faith manner. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Sending messages containing abusive, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or spam content through the contact forms.
- Introducing viruses, malicious scripts, or any attempt to compromise the cybersecurity of our servers or platform.
- In case of unusual traffic or suspicion of a cyber-attack, we reserve the right to introduce validation modules (such as CAPTCHA) or to block the respective IP addresses without prior notice.
4. Donations, Sponsorships, and Refund Policy
All financial resources collected through this online platform are strictly and exclusively dedicated to supporting scientific research projects, ecological education, and biodiversity conservation activities conducted by the association.
- Payment processing: Online donations are securely processed through integrated third-party payment gateways. Bank card details are never accessible to, nor stored by, the AQUATERRA Ecological Society.
- Refund Policy: Due to the legal regime applicable to charitable and non-profit funds, donations are normally final and non-refundable. However, if a technical error is proven (such as duplicate transactions or incorrect amounts entered due to a system glitch), the user can contact us within 14 calendar days at
office@seaquaterra.org to resolve the situation and refund the incorrect transaction amount through the original payment method.
5. Limitation of Liability
The AQUATERRA Ecological Society makes every effort to ensure that the published information (ichthyological data, project updates, educational resources) is accurate, correct, and up to date. However:
- The platform is provided "as is", without any express or implied warranties regarding absolute accuracy or uninterrupted service.
- We do not assume liability for temporary disruptions of the web service caused by technical issues beyond our control, network errors, server outages, or external cyber-attacks.
- The website may contain links to external third-party platforms (media outlets, academic partners, the BioEdu portal). We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy policies, terms of use, or content of those websites.
6. Complaints and Claims Procedure
Any dissatisfaction, notification, or claim related to the website's functionality, content usage, or donations can be sent in writing to our official contact addresses.
- Resolution timeframe: The association will analyze the complaint and formulate an official response in writing within a maximum of 15 business days from its registration date.
- Disputes: Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably between the parties will be referred for resolution to the competent Romanian courts in the Municipality of Bucharest.
